Environmental care character needs to be developed from early childhood through experiences that are close to children’s daily lives, simple, and can be practiced directly. This article aims to describe a nature-loving activity at TK Darma Wanita Karangwaluh using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The ABCD approach is applied by positioning children, teachers, the school environment, plants, and the involvement of the school community as assets that can be developed to foster environmental care habits. The activities were carried out through introducing plants, observing the parts and benefits of plants, selecting or adopting plants, planting, watering, caring for plants, and maintaining cleanliness around the plants. Data were collected through observations, simple conversations with teachers and children, and documentation of the activities. The results showed that children’s direct involvement in caring for plants provided concrete experiences in developing responsibility, concern, cooperation, independence, and appreciation for living things. The ABCD process helped ensure that the activities did not focus only on environmental problems or shortcomings but also on identifying and mobilizing the assets already available at the school and in the surrounding environment. Nature-loving activities can be incorporated into early childhood education as part of daily learning and habituation because they are easy to implement, appropriate to children’s characteristics, and can be carried out sustainably.
