Penguatan Literasi Digital dan Etika Penggunaan AI Bagi Siswa Sekolah Dasar di Desa Jenangan

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has influenced various aspects of children's daily lives, including education. Elementary school students are increasingly exposed to digital technology, but their ability to use technology critically, safely, and responsibly still needs to be strengthened. This community service activity aimed to introduce the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence and strengthen digital literacy among students of SDN 1 Jenangan and SDN 2 Jenangan, Sampung, Ponorogo. The activity employed a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interactive presentations, demonstrations, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and simple practical activities. The materials included an introduction to AI, examples of AI applications in everyday life, appropriate use of AI for learning, information verification, privacy, and ethical digital behavior. The implementation showed that students demonstrated high interest and curiosity toward AI technology. Students were able to recognize several examples of AI in their daily environment and began to understand that AI should be used as a learning aid rather than a replacement for independent thinking. Therefore, introducing AI literacy at the elementary school level can serve as an initial strategy for preparing students to become smart, critical, ethical, and responsible digital users.
