Pelatihan Qiro’ah untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Al-Qur’an Siswa di SDN 4 Pohijo, Sampung, Ponorogo

Abstract

Competence in reading the Qur’an accurately and beautifully is an important ability for the younger generation. Proper recitation helps preserve the verses of the Qur’an from various forms of alteration, both in the wording of the verses and their meanings. Meanwhile, beautiful recitation can make the verses of the Qur’an more engaging and accessible to diverse audiences, thereby supporting deeper appreciation and understanding. However, based on observations conducted at SDN 4 Pohijo, Sampung, Ponorogo, no students were found to have demonstrated adequate competence in the art of Qur’anic recitation (qiro’ah). This condition was not necessarily due to a lack of talent, but rather to the absence of structured mentoring to help students identify and develop their potential. Therefore, this activity aimed to provide students at SDN 4 Pohijo with opportunities to explore their talents and develop their qiro’ah skills, while supporting the emergence of competent young qori and qoriah. The activity was conducted at SDN 4 Pohijo, with students as the target participants. The methods employed included observation, demonstration, hands-on practice, and evaluation of students’ Qur’anic reading abilities.
