Prinsip- Prinsip Kesetaraan Gender Dalam Pandangan Islam

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the principles of gender equality from an Islamic perspective, with a particular focus on the normative foundations of the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as the dynamics of their interpretation and implementation in contemporary Muslim societies. The research employs a library research method by reviewing primary sources, namely the Qur'an and Hadith, and secondary sources, including books and scientific journals. The data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical and normative-contextual approaches.The findings indicate that Islam theologically affirms the equality of men and women in spiritual, moral, and human dimensions, while also recognizing women's rights and roles in education, family, social, and economic spheres. However, the implementation of gender equality principles continues to face challenges, particularly due to gender-biased interpretations of religious texts and the persistence of patriarchal cultural practices. Therefore, equitable interpretative approaches and continuous educational efforts are necessary to foster fair and harmonious gender relations in accordance with Islamic values.
