The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature and case study approach. This research uses primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through a literature review of Natsir's works, as well as through interviews with curriculum managers and santri (student’s), direct observation of the learning process, and documentation of learning activities in both pesantren. Meanwhile, secondary data include scientific journals, books, and articles relevant to the research topic. Data analysis techniques used the Miles and Huberman model, as well as source and technique triangulation to maintain data validity. The results show that Mohammad Natsir's Islamic education ideas are well actualized in PPI 1 Pajagalan through a curriculum that integrates the values of tawhid, worship, science, and skills. Meanwhile, at PPI 31 Banjaran, although it does not explicitly refer to Natsir, the values that align with his thoughts are applied in the transformation of learning, especially in strengthening character and scientific integration. In conclusion, Natsir's educational thought is reflected in the learning system in both pesantren through a balanced combination of spiritual, intellectual, and practical aspects, in line with the principles of holistic Islamic education.
Insani Nurul Imani, Syahidin Syahidin, Cucu Surahman Copyright (c) 2025 Insani Nurul Imani, Syahidin Syahidin, Cucu Surahman http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7357 Thu, 03 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Principal's Role and Organizational Commitment on Teachers’ Work Motivation in Public Elementary Schools https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7409
This study aims to examine the influence of the principal’s role and organizational commitment on teachers’ work motivation in public elementary schools in Boja District, Kendal Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with an ex post facto survey design, data were collected from 103 teachers selected through stratified random sampling from a total population of 138 teachers across 16 public elementary schools. The primary data source comprised teacher responses to validated Likert-scale questionnaires measuring three variables: the principal’s role, organizational commitment, and teacher work motivation. Data analysis, conducted using SPSS 26, included Pearson product-moment correlation to assess the strength of bivariate relationships, simple linear regression to evaluate the individual influence of each independent variable, and multiple linear regression to examine their combined effect. Hypothesis testing was performed at a significance level of α = 0.05 to determine the statistical validity of each relationship. The results indicated that the principal’s role had a significant positive influence on teacher motivation, accounting for 22.7% of the variance, while organizational commitment had a slightly greater influence, contributing 24.4%. When analyzed simultaneously, both variables explained 32.8% of the variance in teacher motivation, demonstrating a moderately strong and statistically significant combined effect. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing school leadership and cultivating organizational commitment as strategic efforts to improve teacher motivation—an essential factor in sustaining teacher performance and advancing educational outcomes.
Suwarsi Suwarsi, Soedjono Soedjono, Aryo Andri Nugroho Copyright (c) 2025 Suwarsi Suwarsi, Soedjono Soedjono, Aryo Andri Nugroho http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7409 Thu, 03 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Transforming Islamic Higher Education Institutions Through Visionary Leadership https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7173
This study explores how strategic leadership can drive institutional transformation towards excellence in Islamic higher education. A qualitative research approach with an ethnographic orientation was adopted, conducted at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, Indonesia, over the course of one year, particularly during the university’s national accreditation preparation. Data were collected through three primary methods: participant observation in leadership meetings and quality assurance activities, in-depth interviews with 14 key informants (including university leaders, lecturers, and accreditation staff), and document analysis of institutional strategic plans and accreditation reports. Data analysis employed an inductive thematic procedure, in which interview transcripts, field notes, and institutional documents were analysed to identify emerging themes. The findings reveal that strategic leadership was realised through three key pillars: clear visionary direction, participatory management, and the integration of Islamic humanistic values into institutional governance. Despite facing challenges such as structural fragmentation, limited financial resources, and cultural resistance to change, leadership succeeded in mobilising collective commitment and aligning organisational efforts with accreditation goals. As a result, the university achieved the highest national accreditation rating (A). This study contributes theoretically by contextualising strategic leadership within faith-based educational settings in the Global South and highlighting the importance of moral authority, inclusive communication, and organisational synergy. Practically, the findings offer valuable insights for Islamic university leaders seeking to foster excellence under constrained conditions.
Fridiyanto Fridiyanto, Firmansyah Firmansyah Copyright (c) 2025 Fridiyanto Fridiyanto, Firmansyah Firmansyah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7173 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Revitalization of KKNI-Based Arabic Language Curriculum in Higher Education https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7282
This study aims to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of the Arabic Language Education (PBA) curriculum at Universitas KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah (UNWAHA), with reference to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), and to formulate revitalization strategies that are adaptive to the demands of the industrial world and the developments in contemporary scholarship. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach within a case study type of evaluative study design. Data were collected through curriculum document analysis and review of the Semester Learning Plans (RPS), in-depth interviews with six lecturers responsible for core courses, and observations of instructional practices in three different classes. The research subjects consisted of sixth-semester students, while the data analysis was conducted using descriptive-analytic methods. The study finds that while the Arabic Language Education curriculum aligns normatively with KKNI level 6 outcomes, several implementation issues remain. These include mismatches between CPL and RPS indicators, limited integration of 21st-century skills, overreliance on teacher-centered methods, low use of digital technologies, and weak stakeholder involvement. To address these, proposed strategies include reformulating graduate profiles based on global and local job market needs, developing RPS using Outcome-Based Education (OBE), improving lecturers’ digital teaching skills, and establishing a collaborative forum with stakeholders such as pesantren, translation agencies, and Islamic media. This reform is urgent to produce graduates who are adaptive, competent, and relevant to current professional demands.
Amrini Shofiyani Copyright (c) 2025 Amrini Shofiyani http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7282 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of School Principal Leadership and School Organizational Climate on the Performance of Public Elementary School Teachers https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7395
This study aims to analyze the influence of school principal leadership and school organizational climate on the performance of public elementary school teachers in Singorojo District, Kendal Regency. The research data comprise Arabic learning activities directly integrated with students’ daily worship routines, such as ablution (wudhu), prayer, dhikr, and the use of Arabic expressions in everyday communication. The data sources include primary data from participant observation and in-depth interviews with 10 seventh-grade students, 2 Arabic teachers, and 1 principal, as well as secondary data such as program documents, lesson plans, and school archives. A qualitative case study design was employed, with purposive sampling to select informants directly involved in the program. Data collection combined participant observation, interviews, and documentation, while data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model: data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Arabic instruction is functionally embedded in students’ worship practices, positioning the language as both a communicative and devotional tool. This integration is strengthened by teacher modeling and the school’s spiritual climate, supporting the internalization of worship values. The study contributes theoretically by framing Arabic as a value-based pedagogical instrument and practically by offering a contextual, replicable model for Islamic schools. Although challenges exist, such as limited time and difficulties understanding classical texts, these are addressed through extracurricular activities and traditional methods like sorogan and bandongan. Thus, Arabic language instruction linked to worship practice serves as a transformative approach for developing students’ moral and spiritual character in a sustainable way.
Aufia Aisa, Rina Dian Rahmawati, Muhammad Fatkhur Rizal Fahmi, Umi Unzilatur Rohmah, Hilza Safa Septia Copyright (c) 2025 Aufia Aisa, Rina Dian Rahmawati, Muhammad Fatkhur Rizal Fahmi, Umi Unzilatur Rohmah, Hilza Safa Septia http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7527 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Application of the CIPP Evaluation Model in Educational Programs in Indonesia https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7390
This study aims to systematically review and analyze the trends in the use of the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model across various educational programs, as well as its strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for implementation. The research employed a systematic literature review method, consisting of four stages: identification, selection, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink using the keyword “CIPP model of education evaluation,” resulting in 833 articles. Most of these articles were published in international journals and conference proceedings from various countries. After applying the inclusion criteria, 26 articles were selected that specifically discussed the application of the CIPP model in education. The findings indicate that the CIPP model is widely used as a comprehensive and flexible evaluation framework, especially in Asia, between 2019 and 2025. It is effective in assessing program context, resource input, implementation processes, and outcomes. However, challenges include the complexity of mixed-method data analysis and the need for skilled evaluators. This review recommends modularizing evaluation instruments, providing standardized training for evaluators, integrating digital technology, adapting local indicators, and developing flexible policy support. These strategies aim to enhance the relevance, efficiency, and impact of the CIPP model in education evaluation practices.
M. This study employed a systematic literature review method consisting of four stages: identification, selection, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. A total of 2,084 scientific articles were identified through the Scopus database using keywords such as "S-LCA," "social impact assessment," and "Islamic education evaluation." Most of these articles were published in international journals and conference proceedings from various countries. After applying the inclusion criteria, 32 articles were selected that specifically discussed the application of the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) approach in the evaluation of Islamic education. According to the results of a systematic review of thirty-two chosen articles, S-LCA is a method for assessing social factors and social impacts at every stage of a product or service's life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials to the production process, distribution, use, and management. This systematic review identified at least five core ethical principles as the theoretical and practical foundation for the use of S-LCA: social and humanitarian justice, full life cycle analysis, transparency and participatory involvement, social and cultural contextualization, and sustainability and social transformation. Three fundamental approaches can be used to implement the concept of adaptation: the classification of stakeholders in Islamic education, the reformulation of social indicators, and the research of adaptation units. With adjustments to the unit of analysis, indicators, and stakeholders, S-LCA can be a thorough alternative approach for assessing the value and merits of Islamic education.
Moh Tahrikul Hukamak, Abd Mannan, Kusaeri Kusaeri, Suparto Suparto Copyright (c) 2025 Moh Tahrikul Hukamak, Abd Mannan, Kusaeri Kusaeri, Suparto Suparto http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7380 Wed, 09 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Instructional Leadership, Professional Competence, and Learning Communities on the Quality of Public Elementary Schools https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7472
This research aims to analyze the influence of instructional leadership, teachers’ professional competence, and learning communities on the quality of elementary schools in Tembalang District, Semarang City. The study employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto and correlational design to examine the extent of influence these internal institutional factors exert on educational quality. The population consisted of 268 teachers and education personnel, from which 160 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS version 27. The results revealed that all three independent variables, work discipline, workload, and organizational culture, significantly and positively affect education quality, both partially and simultaneously. Among the variables, organizational culture demonstrated the strongest influence, indicating that schools with a collaborative, result-oriented, and stable culture are more likely to achieve high educational quality. Work discipline and workload also play essential roles in shaping teacher performance and daily school operations. The regression model explained 45.2% of the variance in educational quality. These findings confirm that improving school quality is not only dependent on external interventions such as curriculum or policy reforms, but is also significantly influenced by internal behavioral and cultural dynamics. Therefore, the study recommends that school leaders focus on strengthening organizational culture, enhancing professional discipline, and managing workloads effectively to promote sustainable improvements in educational outcomes.
Dania Putri, Ngasbun Egar, Ghufron Abdullah Copyright (c) 2025 Dania Putri, Ngasbun Egar, Ghufron Abdullah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7518 Sat, 12 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Development of the Interpretation of the Qur'an Pattern Lughāwi and its Implications in Islamic Education https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7528
This research aims to trace the historical development of lughawi tafsir since the early days of Islam, starting from the era of the Companions and Tabi'in, the period of codification of classical tafsir, to its development in the modern era, as well as examining its implications for contemporary Islamic education. The method used is qualitative research with a literature review approach. Data were obtained from three main sources: (1) classical books of lughawi tafsir such as al-Zamakhsari's Al-Kasyaf and al-Farrā'ān's Ma'āni al-Qur'ān, (2) contemporary literature that examines the linguistics of the Qur'an, such as Dukes' Arabic Semantic in Quranic Discourse, and (3) Islamic education curriculum documents from various institutions. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation and data analysis using a historical approach. The results of the study show that Lughawi Tafsir makes a great contribution to the development of Qur'anic sciences, especially in the field of linguistics and Qur'anic Ulumul. This approach has been proven to strengthen students' linguistic analysis skills, as well as encourage the mastery of linguistic tools in understanding the Qur'an. In addition, Lughawi's interpretation also influences the development of an Islamic education curriculum that emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach. However, challenges arise in the form of limitations of methodological innovation and the gap between classical traditions and the needs of modern education. This study confirms the importance of revitalizing Lughawi interpretation in the design of relevant and contextual Islamic curriculums.
Mohamad Agus Jauhari Copyright (c) 2025 Mohamad Agus Jauhari http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7528 Sun, 13 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Personality Competencies Analysis of Islamic Religious Education Teachers: Al-Qur’an Perspective https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7339
This study examines the personality competencies of Islamic Religious Education teachers from the perspective of the Qur'an, focusing on the gap between theoretical ideals and practical implementation in the field. Despite clear Qur'anic guidance on noble morals, honesty, exemplary behavior, and responsibility, many teachers face challenges in applying these values in their professional lives. This research utilizes a library-based approach, involving the collection and analysis of data from books, scientific journal articles, and research reports. The data collection techniques include document analysis and literature review. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively, involving thematic coding to identify relevant themes related to the Qur'an’s teachings on teacher competencies. The findings underscore that an ideal Islamic teacher embodies obedience to religious, legal, and social norms, as illustrated in Surah An-Nisa (4:59). Honesty and integrity are crucial, highlighted in Surah An-Nisa (4:69), emphasizing the role model nature of teachers. Noble morals, inspired by Prophet Muhammad as depicted in Surah Al-Qalam (68:4) and Surah Al-Ahzab (33:21), serve as models for conduct. Leadership and wisdom, as conveyed in Surah Al-Furqan (25:63) and Surah Al-Mujadila (58:11), aid teachers in guiding students effectively. A strong work ethic and responsibility are essential, as reflected in Surah An-Naml (27:88), while humility, in line with the teachings of Surah Luqman (31:18), should temper professional pride. This research contributes to the development of more spiritually grounded and morally upright Islamic teachers by aligning their competencies with Qur'anic principles.
Amiruddin Amiruddin, Nurbayani Nurbayani, Hayati Hayati, Azhari Azhari Copyright (c) 2025 Amiruddin Amiruddin, Nurbayani Nurbayani, Hayati Hayati, Azhari Azhari http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7339 Sun, 13 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of the Learning Method of the Prophet Muhammad Saw at Islamic Boarding Schools https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7543
This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's learning method at the Madarijul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Bandar Lampung. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a type of field research. Primary data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. Secondary data was obtained from literature studies in the form of books, journals, Qur'anic verses, and relevant hadiths. The data collection technique uses participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, with data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the five learning methods of the Prophet SAW—lecture/muhadharah, halaqah/egalitarian, reward and punishment (targhib-tarhib), gradual, and stories with wisdom—have been applied in an integrated manner in the pesantren environment. Each method has a distinctive form of implementation and has a positive impact on the development of character, discipline, and understanding of students. This finding affirms that the learning methods of the Prophet SAW remain relevant in the context of contemporary education and can be used as a reference in building a holistic Islamic education system. This research also highlights the importance of integrating prophetic values in character education. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with ethnographic methods, the research was conducted through observations and in-depth interviews with registered pilgrims and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Kudus. The primary data were obtained from field interviews with seven prospective pilgrims, two Hajj service officials, and three religious counselors. Additional data were gathered through participatory observation during official Hajj preparation meetings and religious counseling sessions. Document analysis was also conducted using official records from the Ministry. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show three dominant behavioral responses: 85% of pilgrims remain committed to waiting for their scheduled departure, 5% choose to withdraw their savings and perform Umrah, and 10% cancel their plans entirely. These decisions are shaped by considerations such as age, health conditions, financial capacity, and levels of religious understanding. From the perspective of Islamic law, each response represents a different interpretation of istitha’ah (ability) and is evaluated within the framework of maslahat (benefit) and darurat (necessity). The study concludes that pilgrims' religious behavior is not solely influenced by administrative barriers but also reflects their internal spiritual judgment and adaptive understanding of Islamic teachings in dealing with contemporary challenges. These findings offer valuable insight for Hajj policymakers to accommodate religious needs while addressing practical limitations.
Khafidhoh Khafidhoh, Suhada Suhada, Sugito Sugito, Sakli Anggoro, Imamul Mujahidin Copyright (c) 2025 Khafidhoh Khafidhoh, Suhada Suhada, Sugito Sugito, Sakli Anggoro, Imamul Mujahidin http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7224 Sat, 19 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Comparison of GRM and GPCM in the Development of Higher Education Practice Assessment Instruments https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7281
This study aims to outline various findings of previous research related to the comparison of the application of the Graded Response Model (GRM) and the Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM) in the development of higher education practice assessment instruments. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review. The data in this study are articles indexed in Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 from Scopus. Articles were selected using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) technique. After going through the identification, screening, and eligibility process, 35 articles were included in the inclusion stage and analyzed using meta-synthesis techniques. The results of this study show that the findings of previous research show that the Graded Response Model (GRM) and the Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM) have differences in the development of practice assessment instruments in higher education. That GRM measures competencies based on students' values, attitudes, and spirituality, especially in assessments that use a graded scale such as Likert. In contrast, GPCM provides higher reliability in the context of step-based practice assessment or procedural stages. The results of this study can contribute positively to the development of practice assistance in higher education.
Siti Maimunah, Zuhriyah Hidayati, Kusaeri Kusaeri, Suparto Suparto, Sita Isna Malyuna Copyright (c) 2025 Siti Maimunah, Zuhriyah Hidayati, Kusaeri Kusaeri, Suparto Suparto, Sita Isna Malyuna http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7281 Sat, 19 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of Religious Moderation in Higher Education https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7522
This study aims to examine the implementation of religious moderation at HKBP Nommensen University Medan as a case study. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenology. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies. The informants consisted of lecturers, education staff, and students from various religious backgrounds. The results of the study show that religious moderation in the campus environment has been applied culturally and practically, as seen from the attitude of tolerance, the provision of interfaith worship facilities, and inclusive learning. However, the implementation has not been followed by a formal policy or a structured evaluation system. This condition makes the sustainability of moderation practices dependent on the values of the community and current leadership. In conclusion, the campus has become a participatory religious moderation space, but it is necessary to strengthen institutions in the form of written regulations and systematic evaluation to ensure the sustainability and quality of the implementation of moderation values in the future.
Oktrigana Wirian, Hasan Bakti Nasution, Mohammad Al Farabi Copyright (c) 2025 Oktrigana Wirian, Hasan Bakti Nasution, Mohammad Al Farabi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7522 Sat, 19 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Spatial Inequality and Accessibility of Senior High School Education in Bonebolango Regency https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7526
This study aims to analyze the spatial dynamics of upper secondary education services, distribution patterns, and the reach of high school services in Bonebolango Regency. The research method used in the study was spatial descriptive, with data sources from schools and the Central Statistics Agency. The data analysis techniques used are meeting needs, school occupancy levels, and utilizing the Geographic Information System (GIS) through the analysis of the nearest neighbors, buffers, and overlays. The results of this study show that the availability of high school facilities in Bonebolango Regency has not met the needs of the upper school-age community, because it has not been able to accommodate 80% of the high school age population in each sub-district. The occupancy rate is also uneven, with four high schools having an occupancy rate above 80% of the temporary capacity and 11 high schools having an occupancy rate of less than 50% of their capacity Based on the analysis of the nearest neighbors, the distribution pattern of high schools in Bonebolango Regency is relatively random, with a value of 0.975337 and a z-score of -0.030915. Based on the analysis of the service coverage of high school facilities using the buffer method according to SNI 03-1733-2004, it is known that high school facilities in Bonebolango Regency are very uneven and tend to overlap in several sub-districts and do not cover all settlements.
Aljunaid Bakari, Firman Sidik Copyright (c) 2025 Aljunaid Bakari, Firman Sidik http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7526 Sun, 20 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Strengthening Religious Moderation Based on Cultural Communication in Facing Socio-Religious Issues in Multicultural Communities https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7556
This study explores the strengthening of religious moderation through cultural communication in addressing socio-religious issues within multicultural communities. Employing a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study analyzes primary sources such as scholarly books, accredited national and international journals, and relevant policy documents. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns related to moderation, communication, and 21st-century skills. The findings reveal that religious moderation cannot be conveyed solely through normative doctrines; it must be contextualized through inclusive cultural communication that respects diversity. Core moderation values such as tawassuth, tasamuh, tawazun, i’tidal, and musawah are more effectively internalized when embedded in local communication practices. Additionally, the integration of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity contributes significantly to cultivating tolerant individuals capable of navigating the complexities of contemporary social and religious life. This study provides a conceptual contribution by linking cultural communication with the mastery of 21st-century skills, a connection not thoroughly addressed in previous research. The implications emphasize the role of educational institutions, religious leaders, and media in fostering a moderate, inclusive society. Ultimately, religious moderation must be actualized through everyday practices supported by strategic communication and relevant competencies for navigating pluralistic realities.
Nur Ahmad, Farandika Nanda Pratama, Miftakhul Jannah Copyright (c) 2025 Nur Ahmad, Farandika Nanda Pratama, Miftakhul Jannah http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7556 Sun, 20 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Parental Attention and the Islamic Religious Education Learning Process on the Behavior of Students at Madrasah Diniyah https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7471
This study aims to analyze the influence of parental attention and the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning process on the religious behavior of students at Madrasah Diniyah of Assidiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, West Jakarta. The research is grounded in the observed lack of consistent internalization of religious values among students, as reflected in irregular worship practices and the weak application of Islamic conduct in daily life. Employing a quantitative approach with a survey method, this study utilized correlation and regression analysis techniques. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 176 respondents selected via random sampling from a population of 750 students. The findings indicate that parental attention has a stronger influence than the IRE learning process in shaping students’ religious character. Moreover, both variables were found to have a significant positive effect, both individually and simultaneously, on various aspects of religious behavior, including the performance of obligatory and sunnah prayers, Ramadan fasting, Qur’an reading habits, and Islamic social etiquette. The study concludes that fostering students' religious character requires a synergistic partnership between school-based religious instruction and active parental engagement at home to ensure the comprehensive and consistent embodiment of Islamic values.
Musthofa Musthofa Copyright (c) 2025 Musthofa Musthofa http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7471 Tue, 22 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Compassion in the Qur’an: A Study of Quraish Shihab’s Thought and its Implications for Learning in Islamic Education https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7517
This study critically examines Quraish Shihab’s thoughts on the concept of compassion in the Qur’an, focusing on the meanings of four key terms: raḥmah, raḥmān, raḥīm, and ra’ūf. It employs a qualitative approach through a literature study that explores the theme of compassion in Quraish Shihab’s interpretations and its implications for learning within Islamic education. The data in this study are categorized into two types: primary data, consisting of verses related to compassion as interpreted in Tafsir al-Mishbah, and secondary data, which include scholarly articles, academic journals, books on Islamic education, and other relevant documents that support the theoretical and conceptual analysis of this research. Data collection was conducted through documentation methods, involving gathering written materials from both primary and secondary sources. The data analysis in this research comprises three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings of this study reveal that, according to Quraish Shihab, compassion in the Qur’an is represented through four terms: raḥmah, raḥmān, raḥīm, and ra’ūf. The implications of compassion from Quraish Shihab’s perspective for learning in Islamic education encompass four aspects: (1) the formation of humane and educational communication, (2) the provision of all learners’ needs, (3) perseverance in teaching that reflects raḥmāniyyah, and (4) a firm yet non-authoritarian attitude.
Muhammad Nurfaizi Arya Rahardja, Udin Supriadi, Cucu Surahman Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Nurfaizi Arya Rahardja, Udin Supriadi, Cucu Surahman http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7517 Fri, 25 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Management of Female Boarding School Students in Implementing Regulations at Islamic Boarding Schools https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7445
The objective of this study is to examine the management of female boarding school students in implementing regulations at the Assa'adah Modern Islamic Boarding School in Serang, Banten, with a focus on the four main functions of management: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The present research adopts a qualitative approach, employing a case study methodology, with data sources consisting of the head of female student care (1 person), female student care staff (1 person), female teachers (1 person), and female students (2 people), totaling five informants selected through a purposive sampling technique. Religious maturity is seen as an important indicator in shaping student behavior, especially in suppressing the tendency to commit aggressive acts, whether physically, verbally, psychologically, socially, or through digital media. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, 1–4, containing indicators of religious maturity and various forms of bullying behavior. The research sample was 115 grade XI students at SMAN 4 Sukabumi City who were selected proportionally through stratified random sampling techniques from a total population of 161 students. Data analysis was carried out by validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant influence of the level of religious maturity and bullying behavior. The regression model obtained showed that religious maturity contributed 64% to the bullying behavior variable. This finding strengthens the assumption that the higher the level of religious maturity of students, the lower their tendency to engage in bullying behavior. This study recommends strengthening religious education that emphasizes understanding and experiencing spiritual values as a preventive strategy against deviant behavior in the school environment.
Hikmah Aulia Zannah, Munawar Rahmat, Saepul Anwar Copyright (c) 2025 Hikmah Aulia Zannah, Munawar Rahmat, Saepul Anwar http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7565 Sun, 27 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Kayuh Baimbai Philosophy in Banjar Culture and Schools with Excellent Character https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7595
This study explores the application of Kayuh Baimbai values—emphasizing mutual cooperation, solidarity, and social responsibility—in character-excellent schools in Banjarmasin City. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, principals, and students; participatory observations; and analysis of school documents such as curricula and activity reports. The selected schools are recognized for integrating local wisdom into their educational practices. Data were analyzed thematically through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation ensuring validity. The findings reveal that Kayuh Baimbai's values are embedded across multiple school domains: classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, policy-making, and social programs. These values strengthen students’ cultural identity, interpersonal relationships, and sense of collective responsibility. However, the study also identifies implementation challenges, including superficial student understanding, limited teacher training, and pressure to meet academic benchmarks that constrain value-based education. The study concludes that while Kayuh Baimbai has significant potential for character development, its effective application requires systemic reforms particularly in curriculum design, teacher training, and school-community collaboration. It also recommends adapting these traditional values to address contemporary social issues such as digital citizenship and environmental responsibility, ensuring their continued relevance in a modern educational context.
Didi Susanto, Rico Rico, Firda Rahayu Copyright (c) 2025 Didi Susanto, Rico Rico, Firda Rahayu http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7595 Sun, 27 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Islamic Educational Policy Analysis on Facilitating Islamic Boarding School Development Under the Local Regulation https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7081
This study examines the facilitation of Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) development in Pekalongan City, Indonesia, under the Islamic Boarding School Law No. 18 of 2019 framework. A sample of 161 teachers was selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire measured on a Likert scale and tested for validity and reliability using SPSS software. Data analysis techniques included prerequisite tests (normality, linearity, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity) and hypothesis testing through multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that principal academic supervision significantly influenced school quality with a contribution of 65.5%; the role of teacher leaders contributed 56.1%; and teacher work discipline contributed 59.2%. Simultaneously, the three variables accounted for 75.5% of the variance in school quality. These results demonstrate that internal school factors play a crucial role in achieving educational quality. The study underscores the importance of optimizing the principal's supervisory role, strengthening teacher leadership capacity, and fostering a disciplined work culture among teachers. The findings provide empirical evidence that can inform policy and strategic decisions to improve school quality at the institutional and systemic levels.
Memik Nor Fadilah, Maryanto Maryanto, Ngasbun Egar Copyright (c) 2025 Memik Nor Fadilah, Maryanto Maryanto, Ngasbun Egar http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7537 Sun, 03 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Collaboration of Social Institutions in Character Education of Teenagers https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7561
This study aims to explore and analyze the collaboration between three key social institutions the Neighborhood Chief, the Tolong Menolong Union (STM), and the Mosque Prosperity Board (BKM)—in shaping youth character in Neighborhood VIII, Panyabungan City. The main objective is to understand how institutional synergy fosters moral awareness, social responsibility, and helps prevent juvenile delinquency through community-based approaches. Using a qualitative approach and a case study method. The research data for this study comes from collaborative activities between three main social institutions: the Head of the Neighborhood Association (RT), the Mutual Aid Association (STM), and the Osque Prosperity Body (BKM)—in shaping the character of adolescents. Primary data sources include field interviews and observations, while secondary data consist of institutional records and relevant literature. Data collection used triangulation, combining interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model by Miles and Huberman: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings show that active communication, deliberation, and religious activities such as recitations, mutual cooperation, and youth discussions are effective strategies in instilling positive values. Direct involvement of community leaders strengthens social ties and reduces immoral behavior and crime among youth. The study concludes that this collaborative model functions not only as social supervision but also as a key instrument for community-based character education.
Rohman Rohman, Ismiati Irzain, Ahmad Asrin, Kholidah Nur Copyright (c) 2025 Rohman Rohman, Ahmad Asrin http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7561 Sun, 03 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Use of Nearpod Media in the Social Sciences Subject at Islamic Elementary School https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7531
This study aims to describe whether there is an improvement in student learning outcomes after using Nearpod as a learning medium in the IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) subject, specifically on electrical energy and technology in everyday life. This research employs a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental Design. The population comprises all fifth-grade students at MIS Al-Jihad Palangka Raya, with Class VC selected as the sample using a purposive sampling technique. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with a dominant quantitative design complemented by qualitative insights. The research is descriptive-comparative. The primary data were collected from students of state Islamic senior high schools (MAN) in Riau Province, Indonesia, who constituted the study population. The sample consisted of 500 students distributed across four regional zones (north, west, south, and east), selected using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure balanced representation across geographical areas. Quantitative data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from validated scales measuring teacher and peer academic support. In contrast, qualitative data were obtained through structured interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with selected students. Quantitative data analysis involved independent samples t-tests and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The t-test results show no significant overall difference in academic support perceptions between male and female students. However, MANOVA revealed significant gender differences in teacher support, especially in communication and social interactions. Qualitative findings indicate that female students are more comfortable seeking help from teachers, while male students prefer peer collaboration. These results underscore the need for gender-responsive support strategies to enhance student engagement and academic outcomes.
Najmi Hayati Copyright (c) 2025 Najmi Hayati http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7718 Mon, 25 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Productive Zakat Governance Model for Improving the Quality of Islamic Education https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7774
This study aims to examine the model of productive zakat governance implemented by BAZNAS of Majalengka Regency, focusing on the implementation of zakat programs in the education sector, including scholarships, educational infrastructure development, and vocational training. This study is a qualitative library research using a socio-rhetorical hermeneutic approach. The primary data source is the biblical text of 1 Peter 3:8–12, supported by related scriptural references and academic literature. Data were collected through document analysis, focusing on textual and contextual interpretation. The data analysis employed Vernon K. Robbins’ socio-rhetorical method, involving five textures: inner texture, intertexture, social and cultural texture, ideological texture, and sacred texture. The results of the study show that the call not to return insult for insult is not only a moral demand, but part of the ethical identity of the Christian community. The values of love, peace, and blessing are presented as an alternative response to social injustice. This study contributes to the understanding of biblical texts and their application in today's social context.
Mieke Nova Sendow, Denny Adri Tarumingi Copyright (c) 2025 Mieke Nova Sendow, Denny Adri Tarumingi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7727 Sun, 07 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Open Education Resources Business Model on Entrepreneurship Orientation https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7593
his study aims to investigate the effect of the Open Education Resource (OER) Edupreneurship Business Model on students’ Entrepreneurial Orientation. Using a quantitative approach and survey method, the research involved 44 students participating in the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) entrepreneurship program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Primary data were obtained through closed questionnaires developed based on theoretical indicators of the Edupreneurship Resources Business Model and Entrepreneurial Orientation, and validated by experts. Secondary data were sourced from institutional documents, MBKM program reports, entrepreneurship curricula, and relevant scientific publications. The sampling technique used was quota sampling, due to the limited accessibility of the full population. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale, and analysis was conducted through simple linear regression using SPSS, following classical assumption tests including normality, linearity, and homogeneity. The results show a significant and positive influence of the four components of the edupreneurship business model, content-based, content production, engagement, and business-market models, on students’ entrepreneurial orientation. This orientation includes innovation, proactiveness, risk management, passion, and persistence in starting a business. The study confirms that the integration of open education resources within entrepreneurship education, as facilitated by the MBKM program, can strengthen students' entrepreneurial character and readiness. These findings have implications for policymakers in the field of higher education, particularly in the formulation of strategies that support the development of innovative, value-added, and sustainable entrepreneurship among students. Ultimately, the study contributes to the discourse on how higher education can play a strategic role in shaping young entrepreneurs as part of national economic development.
Elva Nuraina, Liana Vivin Wihartanti, Sigit Ricahyono, Erinna Yulia Putri Copyright (c) 2025 Elva Nuraina, Liana Vivin Wihartanti, Sigit Ricahyono, Erinna Yulia Putri http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7593 Mon, 08 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Strategic Role of Teachers in Determining Core Sociology Materials to Create Meaningful Learning https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7604
This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to examine the strategic role of teachers in determining meaningful and contextual Sociology subject matter in the Solo Raya and Central Java regions. Research data was obtained through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of learning planning and implementation documents. The research population is all active Sociology teachers who are members of the Sociology Teacher Conference (MGMP) of Greater Solo and Central Java, while the sample includes 13 teachers from four public and private high schools in Surakarta City, Sukoharjo Regency, Sragen Regency, and one aliyah madrasah in Surakarta. Data collection techniques include passive observation of the learning process from March 4-28, 2025, in-depth interviews with teachers, MGMP heads, and two students from each school, and document collection in the form of lesson plans, teaching modules, syllabi, and other teaching materials. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and continuous verification. The results of the study showed that teachers applied three main strategies in the selection of essential materials, namely the relationship with students' social lives, continuity between materials, and strengthening literacy and numeracy. These findings confirm that teachers' autonomy and pedagogical capacity greatly determine the success of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in meaningful Sociology learning, so systemic support, continuous training, and collaboration between teachers through MGMP are needed.
Siany Indria Liestyasari, Atik Catur Budiati, Dwi Astutik, Bagas Narendra Parahita, Riadi Syafutra Siregar, Gufronuddin Gufronuddin Copyright (c) 2025 Siany Indria Liestyasari, Atik Catur Budiati, Dwi Astutik, Bagas Narendra Parahita, Riadi Syafutra Siregar, Gufronuddin Gufronuddin http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7604 Fri, 12 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Mindful, Meaningful, and Joyful Learning Based IPAS Learning Strategies and ICT-Based Interactive Multimedia to Increase Student Collaboration and Creativity https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7788
This study aims to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the simultaneous effects of implementing the Mindful, Meaningful, and Joyful Learning (MMJ) approach integrated with the use of interactive multimedia based on information and communication technology (ICT) in enhancing elementary school students' collaboration skills and creativity, specifically at UPT SDN Kebonsari 1 Tuban. To achieve this objective, a quantitative research methodology was employed, enabling the collection of objective, systematic, and measurable data. The target population consisted of all 57 students enrolled at UPT SDN Kebonsari 1 Tuban. Since the total population was less than 100, a total sampling technique was applied, involving the entire population as research subjects to ensure full data representation. Primary data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires and structured observation sheets, designed to capture both students’ observable learning behaviors and their self-reported perceptions of the instructional process. All instruments were validated and tested for reliability prior to data analysis. The collected data were processed using SPSS software and analyzed with multiple linear regression to determine the extent to which the independent variables (MMJ approach and ICT-based multimedia) collectively influence the dependent variables (collaboration and creativity). Findings revealed that the application of the MMJ learning strategy, supported by interactive multimedia technologies, significantly contributes to fostering students’ ability to collaborate effectively and enhances their creative potential during learning activities. These results support the notion that engaging, meaningful, and context-aware instructional designs are not only capable of improving student learning outcomes but also align closely with the development of 21st-century competencies.
Dumiyati Dumiyati, Agus Wardhono, Djoko Apriono Copyright (c) 2025 Dumiyati Dumiyati, Agus Wardhono, Djoko Apriono http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7788 Fri, 12 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Influence of Data-Based Planning, Learning Communities, and Academic Supervision on Learning Quality in Public High School Students in Pemalang Regency https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7827
This study aimed to determine the effect of data-based planning, learning communities, and academic supervision on the quality of learning in public senior high schools within Pemalang Regency. This research goal was accomplished through the use of a quantitative research approach. The population of this study comprised all 184 teachers from three public senior high schools in Pemalang Regency, with a sample of 126 participants selected through a proportional random sampling technique. A questionnaire comprising statements to gauge indices of learning quality, data-based planning, learning communities, and academic supervision served as the primary data source. Using SPSS software, the data analysis included descriptive analysis, requirement testing, and hypothesis testing. This involved using simple linear regression and multiple regression methods. The results showed that there was a favorable and significant impact of data-based planning on the quality of learning, with a contribution of 84.2%. With an 83.3% contribution, teacher involvement in the learning community also improved the quality of learning. Academic supervision also had a favorable impact on learning quality, with a contribution of 80.2%. Together, data-based planning, academic supervision, and teacher involvement in the learning community had a favorable impact on the standard of teacher education, with a contribution of 90.2%. To enhance the quality of learning within educational institutions, teachers need to create learning plans based on data, collaborate and share good practices through learning communities, and the principal must provide in-depth mentoring to teachers in academic supervision activities.
Rizki Fauzan, Harjito Harjito, Nurkolis Nurkolis Copyright (c) 2025 Rizki Fauzan, Harjito Harjito, Nurkolis Nurkolis http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.insuriponorogo.ac.id/index.php/scaffolding/article/view/7827 Tue, 16 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000
