This study aims to develop a physics learning media software on the topic of Relativity Theory using Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Relativity theory is one of the modern physics topics characterized by abstract concepts that require strong visualization skills in the learning process. Therefore, interactive multimedia-based learning media are needed to assist students in understanding concepts such as Galilean transformation, Einstein’s special relativity, time dilation, length contraction, and mass–energy equivalence. This research applies a Research and Development (R&D) approach focusing on the design and production of the software without testing its instructional effectiveness. The development model consists of the stages of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The final product is an autorun application (.exe) that can operate independently on computers with a minimum Windows 98 operating system. The developed software contains theoretical explanations, animated visualizations, practice problems, and supporting menus such as a glossary and user guide. The primary emphasis of this development lies in interactive visualization to facilitate the concretization of abstract physics concepts. It is expected that this software can serve as an innovative alternative learning medium to enhance students’ engagement and understanding in physics learning.
