The Socialization of Proper Cough and Sneeze Ethics and The Herbal Utilization for Cough Relievers

This community service aimed to provide health education to change the folk’s perception regarding coughing and sneezing and to equip them with ethics of cough and sneezing. Moreover, this program also intended to give insight into utilizing herbal in relieving cough. The community service was conducted using door-to-door counseling method at the community of RT 02, RW 09, Kelurahan Bina Widya, Kecamatan Tampan, Pekanbaru. The information on the causes of cough and sneeze was given to the community by using a leaflet. Furthermore, the community was given insight into several herbals that can be used as a cough reliever and the composition of the herbal drink. Simultaneously. The community service with interactive education socialization was successfully done as desired. Society considered that the delivered education was significantly beneficial to be applied regularly.
Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan dalam mengubah persepsi masyarakat serta menerapkan etika batuk dan bersin. Selain itu, pengabdian ini juga bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan terkait pemanfaatan herbal yang terdapat di sekitar sebagai pereda batuk. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dari rumah ke rumah di RT 02, RW 09, Kelurahan Bina Widya, Kecamatan Tampan, Pekanbaru. Warga diberikan informasi terkait penyebab batuk dan bersin serta etika yang benar dengan pemberian leaflet. Masyarakat juga diberikan pengetahuan mengenai herbal yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pereda batuk beserta komposisi yang tepat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian dalam bentuk sosialisasi edukasi secara interaktif berjalan dengan sangat baik sesuai target yang diharapkan. Masyarakat yang telah mendapatkan sosialisasi edukasi dapat memahami informasi baru yang sangat bermanfaat, dapat menerapkan etika batuk dan bersin yang benar, serta mampu memanfaatkan herbal dari bahan masakan rumahan untuk penanganan/pereda batuk.
