Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the influence of self-regulation and directive counseling on final students' anxiety levels in facing the world of work. This study employed a quantitative research approach using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The population of this study consisted of seventh-semester students from the Faculty of Da'wah, Islamic Psychology Study Program, Tribakti Islamic University Kediri, and the Faculty of Management and Business, Accounting Study Program, UNP Kediri. The samples were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The study involved 60 seventh-semester students, consisting of 30 students from the Islamic Psychology Study Program at Tribakti Islamic University Kediri and 30 students from the Accounting Study Program at UNP Kediri. The results of the research show that, 1) there is a significant influence of self-regulation on students' anxiety levels in facing the world of work. 2) there is a significant influence of directive counseling on students' anxiety levels in facing the world of work. 3) There is no joint influence of self-regulation and directive counseling on students' anxiety levels in facing the world of work. The findings obtained in this research are that strengthening students' mentality in facing the world of work is not enough with direct guidance, but more priority is given to developing self-regulation.
